Mike Smith

Mike is not only "The Climate Dad" podcast host but also the CEO and co-founder of Aclymate, a Denver-based climate-tech startup building carbon accounting and offsetting software to help small and medium-sized businesses manage and report their impact on the climate. Previously, Mike founded RenewWest, where he developed the largest carbon reforestation project in U.S. history, the two million tree Collins-Modoc Project. He is a former US Naval Officer and FA-18 pilot, where he attained the rank of Commander and had experience leading projects with $1.2B in assets under management, $7MM per month operations budgets, and 250+ personnel during 12+ years of active-duty service. He is a featured expert for the U.S. Climate Alliance, the Council on Western State Forests, and more. As a 2002 honors graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering with a minor equivalent in Political Science, both with an environmental focus.
